Heat transfer and hydrodynamic analysis of an energy collection system in a solar Rankine engine.

Summary

The article describes a complex scheme, consisting of a water circuit preheated by solar energy and an auxiliary boiler, transferring its heat to a R113 cycle which drives a turbine. A third cycle consists of a centrifugal compressor driven by the turbine and producing refrigeration in a conventional manner. The whole system is modelled in order to calculate its thermodynamic performance.
