Heat transfer and pressure drop measurements for hydrocarbons in a direct-expansion-evaporator tube.

Author(s) : MELIN P., VAMLING L.

Summary

Measurements using propane and butane have been conducted in a direct-expansion-evaporator tube, typical for larger heat pumps. A description of the experimental procedure is given and the measurement methodology is discussed. For comparison, measurements have also been conducted using R22. The measurements have been conducted for mass- and heat fluxes in the range of 85-313 kg/m2.s and 0.5-50 kilowatt/m2, respectively. Results are given.
