Summary

MEASURED ARE THE HEAT TRANSFER AND SURFACE STATIC PRESSURE CHARACTERISTICS ALONG WITH THE VELOCITY AND TURBULENCE IN THE FLOW FIELD FOR A SYSTEM CONSISTING OF THREE TUBES AND A TUBE BANK OF FOUR LINES AND SEVEN ROWS. MAIN RESULTS OBTAINED FOR THIS SYSTEM ARE AS FOLLOWS. MEAN HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT SHOWS LITTLE CHANGE FOR TUBES DOWNSTREAM OF THE SECOND ONE. AT THE SAME REYNOLDS NUMBER, THE PRESENT VALUE OF THIS COEFFICIENT IS ALMOST EQUAL TO THAT FOR A TUBE BANK OF LARGER SPACING. THE LOCAL HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT ON THE FRONT FACE OF TUBE VARIES INTENSIVELY AS COMPARED WITH THE CASE OF WIDER SPACING IN A SIMILAR WAY TO THE CASE OF THREE TUBES.
