Summary
NUMERICAL CALCULATIONS HAVE BEEN CONDUCTED IN ORDER TO CLARIFY THE LAMINAR HEAT TRANSFER CHARACTERISTICS OF TUBES IN AN INLINE BANK AT LOW REYNOLDS NUMBER. LOCAL AND MEAN HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENTS ALONG WITH THE FLOW AND TEMPERATURE FIELDS ARE REPRESENTED IN THE REYNOLDS NUMBER RANGE FROM 10 TO 100. MAIN RESULTS OBTAINED ARE AS FOLLOWS; (I) THE MAIN HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT SHOWS LITTLE VARIATION WITH THE TUBE SPACING. (II) THE PRESENT RESULTS ARE IN REASONABLE AGREEMENT WITH MEASURED ONES.
