Summary
The authors present the results of a study on convective evaporation of HCFC-123 at high temperatures inside a horizontal tube. The variation of the local, average coefficients of heat transfer is analysed as a function of mass velocity, heat flow density, vapour content and position on the circumference. The thermodynamic properties were simulated with the MBWR equation of state. The results show that the coefficients of heat transfer of the new fluid operating at high pressures and temperatures are greater than those obtained with CFC-11 in the same test conditions.
