Summary
Within the COHEPS Project of the European Community, the use of CO2 has been investigated in different applications. FKW (Forschungszentrum für Kältetechnik und Wärmepumpen GmbH), together with several industrial partners, has developed an energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly high-temperature heat pump using CO2 for existing buildings. After having performed theoretical studies, two prototypes have been designed and tested; these are presented and discussed, as are the results of the tests.
