Summary

The paper deals with the updating of regulations for controlled establishments in France and the conditions under which ammonia may be used in any refrigerating plants that may be installed in these establishments. All documents that have been or will be published on this subject are listed. A distinction is made between storage facilities and plants that run on ammonia. The latter are subject to authorisation if the charge is greater than 1500 kg, and subject only to declaration if the charge is between 150 and 1500 kg.
