Summary
The article describes the situation in the production of household refrigerators in Russia, along with the means of bringing about this necessary conversion. The refrigerants cited are R134a, R600a, and blends of R290-R600a-R152a. Insulation problems are also discussed. Currently, 12 factories in Russia make household refrigerators and freezers. In 1993 output reached 3.3 units, 20% of which was exported to Western Europe. The article also discusses the problems that must be solved in sectors like the chemical and machine-tools industries.
