Hydrogen: a promising future!

Summary

The main stakeholders in the hydrogen field decided, well before the relevant technologies become available on the market, to get together in ISO/TC 197 with the aim of achieving consensus on a number of issues. Some of the more salient results of the meeting were as follows: work items 13,984 liquid hydrogen (fuelling systems interface for land vehicles) and 14,687 hydrogen fuel (product specification) were progressed to approval stage (FDIS) and are therefore expected to be published in the course of this year; work items 13,985 liquid hydrogen (fuel tanks for land vehicles) and 13,986 liquid hydrogen tank containers for multimodal transportation were approved for circulation as committee drafts; the first working drafts for each of work items 16,866 hydrogen and gaseous hydrogen blends (fuelling stations), 15,869 hydrogen and gaseous hydrogen blends (vehicle fuel tanks) and 15,594 airport hydrogen fuelling facility were registered; a new work item was proposed for compressed gaseous hydrogen refuelling connectors for land vehicles.
