Implementation of the Montreal Protocol in the Republic of Croatia.

Author(s) : NECAK J., SUNJIC H.

Summary

Thanks to its relatively low ODS consumption, Croatia is among countries operating under Article 5 of the Montreal Protocol. With the aim of complying with its obligations and in accordance with the Law on Ratification of the Montreal Protocol and its amendments, the Government of the Republic of Croatia passed a by-law on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer. The first step taken to comply with obligations arising from the Montreal Protocol was the preparation of the Country Programme, in 1996. To this day the Multilateral Fund has, on the basis of the Programme, approved the execution of five projects for the phasing out of ODS consumption. The objective of this paper was to present the implementation of the Country Programme, the execution of projects and the obligations arising from the subordinate regulation.
