IMPROVED HEAT TRANSFER PERFORMANCE OF AIR COOLERS BYSTRIP FINS CONTROLLING AIR FLOW DISTRIBUTION.

Author(s) : HATADA T.

Summary

THIS PAPER DESCRIBES A METHOD FOR CONTROLLING AIRVELOCITY BY MEANS OF FINS WITH CONVEX STRIPS. THE CONVEX STRIPS HAVE 2 APEX ANGLES IN THE LONGITUDINAL DIRECTION. THEY INCREASE THE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT OF FINS AND EFFECTIVELY CONTROL AIR FLOW DISTRIBUTION BETWEEN FINS. THESE 2 FACTORS LEAD TO IMPROVED OVERALL HEAT TRANSFER PERFORMANCE OF AIR COOLERS.
