Improvement of the technology of valuable gas component splitting by the use of a cooling process.

Summary

The authors present their experiences related to the problems of the cooling process improvement in gas dehydration and LNG production. This experience is based on process improvements implemented at the three gas processing complexes in the Republic of Uzbekistan. They also review the possibilities for application of the improved cooling processes elsewhere in the gas processing plants. Proposals have been developed to achieve new objectives of gas processing. At Shurtan field, it is planned to create a complex on LNG production consisting of four parallel trains with a total volume of gas 12 bln m3 per year on the basis of using zeolite based adsorption cleaning and propane-butane cooling. The use of expander/compressor technology to strip LNG is proposed at Mubarek gas processing plant taking into account the construction of the zeolite dehydration and gas purification unit here with capacity of 4 bln m3 per year. The introduction of the above projects makes it possible to increase the LNG production volume by 280 thousand tons per year and the gas condensate production by 90 thousand tons per year.
