Author(s) : FRASER G. S. M., MCALLISTER J. S.
Summary
BRITISH GAS HAS CONSTRUCTED A NUMBER OF FACILITIES FOR THE STORAGE OF LNG. THIS IS USED TO MEET DEMANDS FOR PEAK-SHAVING GAS. THE PAPER COVERS THE PLANNING BASIS FOR THE SITES, TOGETHER WITH A DESCRIPTION OF THE PLANT DESIGNED FOR LNG TEMPERATURES DOWN TO 108 K (-165 DEG C). OPERATIONAL EXPERIENCE IS ALSO INCLUDED TO DEMONSTRATE THE PLANTS' SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE IN MEETING THE ORIGINAL OBJECTIVES AND THEIR ADAPTABILITY TO CHANGING CIRCUMSTANCES.
