Summary
Starting with the thermal comfort conditions in office buildings, explains the necessity of improving the window-side thermal environment. Points out that the common practice of dividing air-conditioned space into perimeter and inner zones tends to engender mixing loss of energy. Describes ways adopted in Japan of improving window-side thermal environment with much simpler or even without the systems for perimeter zone air conditioning.
