In-tube evaporation and condensation of refrigerant-lubricant mixtures of HFC-134a and CFC-12.

Author(s) : ECKELS S. J., PATE M. B.

Summary

In-tube heat transfer coefficients and pressure drops were experimentally determined for evaporation and condensation of R134a and R12. These measurements were performed for refrigerant-lubricant mixtures ranging from 0 to 5.4% lubricant concentrations. Evaporation tests were performed at 5 deg C and condensation tests at 40 deg C. The tests were conducted in a 3.67 meters long smooth tube with an inside diameter of 8.0 millimeters. Results are given.
