INCIPIENT NUCLEATE BOILING AND QUENCH STUDY.

Summary

THE EFFECT OF THERMAL HISTORY ON THE HEAT FLUX VS WALL SUPERHEAT RELATIONSHIP FOR FLOW BOILING HAS BEEN INVESTIGATED EXPERIMENTALLY. THE DEGREE TO WHICH A SITE IS QUENCHED DICTATES WHETHER THE REHEAT CURVE FOLLOWS THE INITIAL HEATING CURVE OR APPROACHES THE COOLING CURVE. THE INFLUENCE OF MASS FLUX, SUBCOOLING AND PRESSURE ARE CONSIDERED.
