Summary
South Africa is now the only developing country under the Montreal Protocol that can boast that it is in full compliance of the developed country phase-out schedule. As such it is the leader of the developing countries and trusts with its new status as a developing country it will be able to play a leading role in Africa and in the G77 and China, to assist other developing countries to meet their commitments to the Protocol.
