Summary

The main reasons why there is a problem for the export of Brazilian pineapple juice are: juice quality, no competitive pricing, high freight cost, low production, and high packaging costs. The investment for a factory to produce frozen concentrated and single pineapple juice was estimated to be 4.4 million USD with an investment in equipment of 2.8 million USD, to produce 30,975 ton/year of juices. In order to avoid idle time in the factory it was foreseen that passion fruit juice and cashew juice, both concentrated and single juice, would also be processed.
