Summary

THE PROCESS OF FROST FORMATION ON THE SURFACES WAS INVESTIGATED FOR DIFFERENT TYPES OF COOLERS FOR REFRIGERATING MEAT. AN EMPIRICAL EQUATION DETERMINING VARIATIONS IN FROST LAYERS THICKNESSES AND THEIR DENSITY CHANGES IN TIME IS PRESENTED. THE INTERRELATION BETWEEN FROST LAYER DENSITY AND ITS THICKNESS IS ALSO DISCUSSED. THE THEORETICAL DATA OBTAINED BY THE AA. PROVIDED A SATISFACTORY AGREEMENT WITH CORRESPONDING EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS. THE AA. RECOMMEND TO APPLY THE EMPIRIC FORMULA FOR CALCULATIONS ON AIR COOLING OF MEAT. E.K.
