Summary
This article simulates the energy consumption of air conditioning in summer for a given residence in different ventilation rates and ventilation modes, located in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou respectively. It concludes that considering the energy saving effect, the most favorable ventilation rate is 1.0 h-1 for Beijing and 0.4 h-1 for Shanghai, while the energy consumption increases linearly with ventilation rate in Guangzhou; and the intermittent mechanical ventilation mode contributes to the energy saving for all the three regions.
