Summary

The Electrolux factory of Motala, which produces 700 refrigerators per day, carries out direct inspection using a temperature-measuring system that includes an infrared thermal profiler. The practical configuration of the system is described. A summary display allows the operator to find out rapidly the results of the day, and the performance of the assembly line is expressed in charts. The new measuring system is reliable and exact and has an excellent cost/efficiency ratio. Its versatility gives it other potential applications. J.L.
