Summary

The paper gives a description of the strawberry chilling process directly after harvesting. Strawberries are picked manually and put directly into baskets, disposable containers and chests aimed at the proper classification according to the quality and ensuring a high quality of the product. Since strawberries spoil fast, they should be chilled as fast as possible and transported by refrigerated trucks. The paper describes the effects of temperature on biological processes and the quality of the fruit. It also covers energy and economic aspects.
