INTELLIGENT CONTROLLERS FOR A DIRECT EXPANSION AIR COOLER.

Summary

IN AIR DUCTS, PROBLEMS ARE ENCOUNTERED IN MEASURING THE TEMPERATURE AND WATER VAPOUR CONTENT OF AIR DOWNSTREAM AND CLOSE TO COOLING COILS, WHICH MAINLY RESULT FROM VELOCITY, TEMPERATURE AND MOISTURE CONTENT PROFILES. THE MEASUREMENTS TAKEN DOWNSTREAM OF A FAN CAN HOWEVER REPRESENT THE AIR BUL TO AVOID PROBLEMATIC MEASUREMENTS CLOSE TO THE COOLING COILS, A NOVEL OPEN LOOP INTELLIGENT CONTROLLER HAS BEEN DEVELOPED USING MATHEMATICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL MODELLING TECHNIQUES.
