Summary
In order to investigate experimentally the oil transport together with the dry evaporation in a plate heat exchanger, a test rig with aliuminium ducts with a cooling capacity of 10 kilowatts has been developed, having used similar techniques than for copper ducts. A plate heat exchanger has been changed so that the evaporation of ammonia on the last plate of the heat exchanger is entirely visible. With this possibility of optical assessment together with a manual expansion valve, the operation of the stationary plant has been controlled for superheats between 5 and 10 K for a continuous oil return.
