Summary
The paper deals with experimental investigations of efficiency improvement in ejection airconditioning system due to the application of the internal heat exchanger at the ejector discharge line/ liquid line. Solar energy was used as the motive energy to produce the motive vapour. The rational basis for this solution results among others from the utilization of superheating of the vapour emerging from the ejector. The vapour superheating at the ejector outlet may be thought as a waste heat therefore together with condensation heat is given back to the ambient. The cost of installation of the additional heat exchanger in the system is relatively small, both from economic and technologic point of view. Additional advantage of the utilization of the vapour superheating is related with decrease of the thermal load of condenser. As an effect the required quantity of the medium cooling the condenser is smaller. The testing stand and the experimental results of investigation will be present in the paper. The experimental investigation was carried out for isobutane as the working fluid therefore as a consequence the ejector operated with the superheated vapour. The efficiency of the internal heat exchanger was varied between 80% up to 100%. The application of the internal heat exchanger in tested ejection refrigeration system caused increase of COP up to 20%.
