Summary

The rapid growth of various applications of the ejection refrigeration systems could be observed recently. Because of possibility of the application of solar or waste energy to supply the motive energy they can be thought as a real alternative to compression devices in air-conditioning technologies. The paper describes the numericall analysis of the cycle combined with laboratory experiments conducted on a specially constructed prototype/stand for the case of isobutane as a working fluid. The effects of operation parameters (motive vapour, secondary vapour and discharge parameters) are analysed in the paper. The performance line of the ejector in coordinate mass entrainment ratio- compression ratio will be presented. The CFD analysis is presented in the paper showing reasonably good agreement with experiment. Momentum loss coefficient for gas ejector operating with isobutane was experimentally evaluated.
