Summary

Five methods of manual sizing of comfort air conditioning units in small service sector and residential buildings, used by installers, are presented, compared with each other and to software programs. They have been tested on a typical office for which certain parameters can be varied, such as orientation or nature of the openings. The results obtained differ sometimes significantly, but, with certain adjustments or improvements, they could be considered as satisfactory for nearly all the configurations. J.L.
