Summary

In this study, human fibroblasts were cryopreserved inside a collagen matrix (a 20-mm diameter and 1-mm thickness collagen sponge) and several cooling rates were applied. The membrane integrity of the fibroblasts was evaluated using a trypan blue exclusion assay. High cell density was seen to adversely affect viability.
