Summary

A RELATIVELY CLOSE RELATIONSHIP WAS FOUND BETWEEN THE TEMPERATURES FOR BREAK POINTS IN THE ARRHENIUS PLOTS OF THE RATE OF POTASSIUM ION FROM THE TISSUES, AND THE CRITICAL TEMPERATURE FOR CHILLING INJURY OF SEVERAL VARIETIES OF VEGETABLES AND SOME VARIETIES OF CITRUS FRUITS. IN THE CASE OF THE RESPIRATORY RATE OF SEVERAL OTHER VEGETABLES, THE COEFFICIENT OF CORRELATION WAS NOT SIGNIFICANT, BECAUSE THERE WAS TOO SMALL A DEGREE OF FREEDOM.
