Summary

This statistical portrait is based on data collected by INSEE within the framework of the Annual Declaration of Social Data (DADS) for years 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. The refrigeration sector, of catering Kitchens and air conditioning accounts for 23 600 employees and 1 900 businesses over the studied year. The main activity of these businesses is the installation, maintenance and repair of refrigeration and ventilation machines and equipment. It is mainly composed of very small enterprises (76% of the businesses have less than 10 employees). This new edition of the statistical description published by AGEFOS SME's observatory services highlights a very clear trend in employment: the very high proportion of permanent contracts (82 %) and full-time jobs (91 %) make this a particularly stable sector. Men remain the majority in the sector (83% men) and relatively young people (34% of the employees are under 30).
