Life tests on hermetic compressors with combination of oil and alternative refrigerants.

Summary

The conventional mineral oil with CFC-12 and various grades of HC (HC-290 and HC-600a) blends including DIN grade, Care-30, commercial grade LPG, destenched LPG, and a specially blended HC refrigerant have been assessed. The combination of HFC-134a and polyolester oil is also studied. The CFC-12/mineral oil test was taken as the baseline test. The comprehensive test results and the comparative ratings are presented and discussed.
