Summary

NORMALLY WHEN A HOMOGENEOUS BINARY MIXTURE CHANGES PHASE FROM LIQUID TO VAPOUR, THE VARYING LIQUID CONCENTRATION OF THE TWO CONSTITUENTS REMAINS ENTIRELY MISCIBLE. HOWEVER UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS WITH LNG MIXTURES IT HAS BEEN FOUND THAT AT PARTICULAR STAGES DURING THE LIQUID TO VAPOUR PHASE CHANGE, TWO QUITE SEPARATE AND IMMISCIBLE LIQUIDS CAN BE PRESENT. CRITICAL POINTS HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED AND BOUNDARY CONDITIONS FOR SOME MIXTURES ARE SHOWN. D.W.H.
