Local ventilation effectiveness parameters in air distribution system design.

Author(s) : SIMONS M. W., WATERS J. R.

Type of article: Article

Summary

The ventilation effectiveness concept has been extensively used in research, where it has long been recognised as a good indicator of air quality. However, ventilation effectiveness parameters are rarely used in design. The paper shows that ventilation effectiveness parameters can easily be included in the design calculations, both early in simple modelling, and at a detailed advanced stage by association with a computational fluid dynamics model. The interpretation of the parameters is also explained.
