Low charge heat exchangers in ammonia compressor and absorption cycles.

Summary
The paper describes conceptual designs of three plate heat exchangers: semiwelded, fully welded and brazed. The heat exchanger charge is exemplified and commented for ten heat transfer tasks, and brief comparisons with plants designed with traditional heat exchangers are made. Calculation of evaporator and condenser charge during operation is briefly explained. The development of heat exchangers for wider use of ammonia in air conditioning and commercial refrigeration at higher pressures, including CO2, is also discussed.
