MATHEMATICAL MODEL FOR THE PREDICTION OF SCREW COMPRESSOR PERFORMANCE.

Summary

THE PAPER PRESENTS A COMPUTER ASSISTED APPROACH TO HELP THE DESIGNER TO PREDICT THE PERFORMANCE OF TWIN-SCREW COMPRESSORS. STARTING FROM PROFILE SHAPE CHARACTERISTICS, THE CODE ACHIEVES THE ROTOR DRAWINGS AND DETERMINES ALL IMPORTANT GEOMETRICAL PARAMETERS. A SIMULATION MODEL HAS ALSO BEEN DEVELOPED FOR EVALUATING THE MACHINE PERFORMANCE. USING THIS CODE, THE DESIGNER CAN SELECT A CERTAIN PROFILE SHAPE AND THEN, FOR A GIVEN PROFILE, CAN HIGHLIGHT THE RELATIVE IMPORTANCE OF VARIOUS PARAMETERS.
