MEASUREMENT AND FORMULATION OF THE THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES OF R134A (1,1,1,2-TETRAFLUOROETHANE) AND R123 (1,1-DICHLORO-2,2,2-TRIFLUOROETHANE).

Author(s) : MCLINDEN M. O.

Summary

THE THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES OF R134A AND R123 ARE FORMULATED USING A MODIFIED BENEDICT-WEBB-RUBIN EQUATION OF STATE APPROPRIATE FOR EXPERIMENTAL MEASUREMENTS OF THE CRITICAL POINT, VAPOUR PRESSURE, SATURATED LIQUID AND VAPOUR VOLUMES, SUPERHEATED PRESSURE-VOLUME-TEMPERATURE (P-V-T) BEHAVIOUR, AND SECOND VIRIAL COEFFICIENTS DERIVED FROM P-V-T AND SOUND SPEED MEASUREMENTS. THE HEAT CAPACITY OF THE IDEAL GAS REFERENCE STATE IS DETERMINED FROM SOUND SPEED MEASUREMENTS ONTHE LOW DENSITY VAPOUR. SURFACE TENSIONS ARE ALSO PRESENTED.
