Measurement of the kinetics of water vapour adsorption into solid zeolite layers.

Summary

The kinetics of adsorption in solid sorption systems is, next to mass transfer, mainly determined by the heat transfer inside the solid. This is relevant especially for zeolite granules, which are common adsorbents. An improvement of the heat transfer can be expected through the use of thin solid zeolite layers, which are directly attached to the heat exchanger wall. An experimental set-up was built to study the coupled heat and mass transfer. First results for solid zeolite layers are presented.
