Methodological factors affecting the prediction of bitter pit through fruit infiltration with magnesium salts in the apple cv. 'Braeburn'.
Author(s) : RETAMALES J. B., LEÓN L., TOMALA K.
Summary
Experiments were carried out using vacuum infiltration of magnesium salts in apples cv. 'Braeburn' to improve the predictive capacity of bitter pit and to study how fruit Mg infiltration triggers the development of "bitter pit-like" symptoms. The complete description of the tests performed is given. The results will help optimize commercial use of vacuum infiltration of magnesium salts for bitter pit prediction.
