Type of monograph: Booklet

Summary

Of importance in agricultural production and for foreign trade (quarantine, disinfection), methyl bromide could be included in the Montreal Protocol. The objective of the study was to determine what effects the utilization of methyl bromide has on ozone-layer depletion. The uses of methyl bromide are then described: soil fumigation or commodity quarantine treatment; potential substitutes to methyl bromide are examined, as well as recycling possibilities.
