Summary
FLUORINATED ALKANES OR FLUORINATED ETHERS HAVE ALREADY BEEN STUDIED AND ARE CONSIDERED AS POTENTIAL AND VALUABLE SUBSTITUTES FOR R11 AND R12 INCENTRIFUGAL COMPRESSORS. BASED ON THE EQUATIONS OF STATE OF LEE-KESSLER-PLOCKER AND CARNAHAN-STARLING-DESANTIS, THE OPERATION OF CENTRIFUGAL UNITS WITH NEW FLUIDS WAS MODELLED. IT IS NOTED THAT SEVERAL OF THESE NEW NON-CHLORINATED REFRIGERANTS CAN SUBSTITUTE FOR R11 AND R12, PROVIDED MINOR TECHNOLOGICAL MODIFICATIONS ARE MADE. P.L.
