Summary
Cascade subcritical systems are the most adapted and practical carbon dioxide applications for high ambient temperature climate conditions in low-income countries. However, the Coefficient of Performance (COP) of cascade subcritical systems is usually low as secondary refrigeration systems are used to condense the high discharged temperatures of the primary CO2 systems. To significantly improve the COP of cascade subcritical systems, heat sink ground/water temperature of different African locations could replace the secondary refrigeration systems. Based on a EES modelling, this paper analyses the performance of this CO2 system with different logarithmic mean temperature difference.
