Modelling of supermarket display cabinet evaporators: a review.

Summary
Considerable research, both experimental and modelling, has been carried out on display cabinet evaporators of supermarket refrigeration systems. However, it is not well understood which evaporator model should be used under varying conditions for the energy efficiency analysis of the display cabinets. This paper presents a review of the comparative analysis of display cabinet evaporator models, which are used in simulation models for traditional and advanced supermarket refrigeration systems. The study is aimed at providing a guide to the design engineer for making decisions as to which models to use under different operating conditions. Finally, the study identifies the gap in research and recommends further research work to be carried out for the supermarket sector.
