A NEW NON-CONDENSABLE GAS SEPARATOR FOR REFRIGERATION, AIR CONDITIONING AND HEAT PUMP SYSTEMS IS PRESENTED. THE SEPARATOR OPERATION IS BASED ON THE COLLECTION AND MEASUREMENT OF NON-CONDENSABLES IN THE SYSTEM. NON-CONDENSABLE SOURCES ARE DISCUSSED: INCOMPLETE EVACUATION, SMALL LEAKAGES OR OPERATION OF OVERLOADED MOTOR. THIS SYSTEM EARLY DETECTS A MOTOR DEFECT AND PREVENTS AN INCREASE IN ENERGY CONSUMPTION.
