Summary

Seventy-three isolates were analyzed. An analysis of 11 enzyme locuses identified 8 types of electrophoretics (TE). Sixty-one isolates were of the TE1 type. Representative isolates of each Austrialian TE were compared to isolates from the United Kingdom, Germany and the USA by using the starch gel system and 13 enzyme locuses. Australian Salmonella enteritidis isolates were genetically correlated to those of other countries, for which transmission through eggs is common.
