Summary

The guide's specific aim is to assist national ozone officers in organizing the training of refrigeration technicians in their respective countries. It is being provided to 152 developing countries, all of which have to gradually phase out CFC consumption and achieve a 50% reduction by 2005 and total phase-out by 2010. Efficient and successful recovery and recycling systems are essential to ensure the supply of recycled CFCs for important uses during phase-out. Extract from the table of contents: global issues, refrigeration management plans, local issues; guide for organizers; phase I and phase II training; monitoring and evaluation. The appendix contains standards sample workshop elements, checklists and tools, training guidelines for identification of needs and co-ordination of activities, additional training and reference material and useful contact addresses.
