Summary
Natural gas is of great importance today as primary source for Italian energy consumption and it could play an important role in the air-conditioning field, thanks to its inherent qualities as a cleaner fuel. In this context, possibilities and prospects are analysed and discussed in relation to availability, transportation, reliability and economical feasibility with particular reference to its use by the gas engine-driven heat pumps.
