NEW CONCEPTS IN CAPACITY MODULATION USING NON-AZEOTROPIC MIXTURES.

Author(s) : VAKIL H. B.

Summary

THIS PAPER PRESENTS NEW CONCEPTS SHOWING HOW TO CONTROL REFRIGERANT VAPOUR PRESSURES WITH NON AZEOTROPIC MIXTURES. IN A VAPOUR-LIQUID CYCLE, THE LIQUID COMPOSITION JUST BEFORE THE EXPANSION VALVE IS IDENTICAL TO THAT OF THE CIRCULATING MIXTURE, WHEREAS THE UNEVAPORATED LIQUID PRESENT AT THEOUTLET OF THE EVAPORATOR HAS A HIGHER CONTENT OF HEAVY COMPONENT. WITH A TWO ACCUMULATOR SYSTEM, LOCATED AT SUITABLE POSITIONS IN THE CIRCUIT, THE COMPOSITION OF THE CIRCULATING MIXTURE CAN BE CHANGED AS REQUIRED.
