Characterizing compressor performance for temperature-glide fluids: effects of benchmark parameters.

Caractérisation des performances des compresseurs pour des fluides à glissement de température : incidences des paramètres de référence.

Summary

For pure refrigerants, compressor manufacturers give refrigeration-production curves as a function of evaporating and condensation temperatures. For zeotropic blends, which have a temperature glide during evaporation and condensation at constant pressure, such curves are not valid, since they pose the problem of what reference temperature to use, given the temperature glide. Examples are given and it is concluded that zeotropic-refrigerant flow-rate curves are possible as a function of evaporating and condensation pressures; from these curves, the significant refrigeration production rates can be determined for the refrigeration engineer according to the particular cycle used.
