Summary

The CNR and the Italian Railways have made further studies on the ageing of insulated transport vehicles. It has been noticed that ageing depended on the use of the vehicle and was not linear, but seemed to decrease with time. The causes of ageing cannot be stated with certainty. The authors show, in particular, that it is impossible to predict the ageing of a road vehicle, and therefore, that it is impossible to give values of ageing coefficients established a priori.
