Summary
Thanks to the use of special mixtures as the working substance of a Joule-Thomson cryocooler, the thermodynamic performance of the cryocooler can be greatly improved. In recent years, this kind of cryocooler has seen some new developments, using air-conditioning at single-stage compressor for it, but consequently, the thermodynamic efficiency of the mixtures currently used is not very good. To achieve and maintain high efficacity, the mixtures for a single stage compressor must be optimized. A new, efficient cryogenic mixed refrigerant for Joule-Thomson cryocoolers is proposed.
